Pursuant to section 2(2) of the Commerce Amendment Act 2001, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title
This order is the Commerce Amendment Act 2001 Commencement Order 2002.
2 Commencement of provisions of Commerce Amendment Act 2001
Sections 6 and 15 of the Commerce Amendment Act 2001 come into force on 1 April 2002.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force on 1 April 2002 sections 6 and 15 of the Commerce Amendment Act 2001 which amends the Commerce Act 1986. The effect of these sections is to—
•increase the membership of the Commerce Commission by providing for the appointment of 2 members of the Commission to hear applications for cease and desist orders:
•empower a cease and desist Commissioner to make cease and desist orders (which are primarily restraining orders), set out the procedure that must be followed, and provide penalties for contravention of a cease and desist order:
•extend the right of appeal against a determination of the Commission to any person against whom a cease and desist order has been made.
