The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Local Electoral (Advertising) Amendment Act 2022.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on 1 July 2022.
3 Principal Act
This Act amends the Local Electoral Act 2001.
4 Section 113 amended (Advertisements for candidates)
(1)
Replace section 113(2)(b) with:
(b)
the advertisement contains a statement setting out the true name and contact details of the person or persons for whom or at whose direction it is published.
(2)
Replace section 113(4)(b)(i) with:
(i)
the true name and contact details of the person or persons for whom or at whose direction it is published; and
(3)
After section 113(6), insert:

In this section, contact details means 1 or more of the following:
(a)
a residential or business address:
(b)
an email address:
(c)
a post office box number:
(d)
a phone number:
(e)
a link to a page on an Internet site, if the page contains 1 or more of the contact details specified in paragraphs (a) to (d).
