61 Environment Court to have regard to statutory acknowledgements

(1)

From the effective date, the Environment Court must have regard to the statutory acknowledgement relating to a statutory area in determining, for the purposes of section 274 of the Resource Management Act 1991, whether Te Uri o Hau governance entity is an entity having an interest in the proceedings greater than the public generally in respect of an application for a resource consent for activities within, adjacent to, or impacting directly on the statutory area.

(2)

Subsection (1) does not derogate from the obligations of the Environment Court under Part 2 of the Resource Management Act 1991.
