Order

1 Title

This order is the Local Government (Whanganui District Council) Order 2015.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 December 2015.

3 Amendment to Schedule 2 of Local Government Act 2002

This clause amends the Local Government Act 2002.

In Schedule 2, Part 2, repeal the item relating to Wanganui District Council.

In Schedule 2, Part 2, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order amends Schedule 2 of the Local Government Act 2002 to change the name of Wanganui District Council to Whanganui District Council. The amendment takes effect when the order comes into force on 1 December 2015.

The Minister for Land Information recommended that the order be made after receiving a request from the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa under section 22(2) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008.
