198 Management of prisons under contract


The chief executive may from time to time, in the name and on behalf of the Crown, enter into a contract with any other person for the management, by that other person, of a corrections prison.


The chief executive must not, without the prior written consent of the Minister in each case,—


enter into a prison management contract; or


agree to an extension of the term of a prison management contract.


No prison may be managed by a person other than the Crown except under a prison management contract.
