Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, amends Part 4 of Schedule 2 of the Resource Management (Waitaki Catchment) Amendment Act 2004.

The amendments insert certain new applications for resource consents received before the date when the Waitaki Catchment Water Allocation Regional Plan (except those parts of it that are subject to appeals) became operative on 21 October 2005. The Resource Management (Waitaki Catchment) Amendment Act 2004 provides for the consideration of and decisions on applications specified in Schedule 2 to be deferred until the regional plan (developed and approved under Part 3 of that Act) for the allocation of water in the Waitaki Catchment is operative.
