The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • (1) This Act is the Conservation Amendment Act 2005.

    (2) In this Act, the Conservation Act 1987 is called “the principal Act”.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

3 Transfer or release of live aquatic life

  • Section 26ZM(4)(b) of the principal Act is amended by adding the words “within 20 working days after the date specified in the advertisement for that purpose (being a date that is not earlier than the date on which the advertisement is first published)”.
