Pursuant to section 2(2) of the Education Amendment Act 2006, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
Order
1 Title
This order is the Education Amendment Act 2006 Commencement Order 2008.
2 Commencement of sections 26, 53, 57, and 60 of Education Amendment Act 2006
Sections 26, 53, 57, and 60 of the Education Amendment Act 2006 come into force on 1 December 2008.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force sections 26, 53, 57, and 60 of the Education Amendment Act 2006 on 1 December 2008.
These sections insert, or facilitate the insertion of, a new Part 26 of the Education Act 1989 (relating to early childhood education and care). Certain provisions of that new Part (relating to curriculum and the making of regulations) are already in force.
