Cook Islands Amendment Act 2007

Note

This Act is administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Cook Islands Amendment Act 2007.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

3 Principal Act amended

  • This Act amends the Cook Islands Act 1915.

4 Interpretation

  • (1) Section 2(1) is amended by omitting the definition of aerodrome and aircraft and substituting the following definition:

    “aircraft has the same meaning as in the Civil Aviation Act 1964.”

    (2) Section 2(1) is amended by repealing the definitions of alienation, Asiatic, bylaw, Commission, Crown land, European land, Minister, Native custom, Native freehold land, order, Ordinance, public place, Registrar, Rules of Court, and will.

5 Amendments to principal Act

  • The provisions of the principal Act set out in Schedule 1 are repealed.

6 Amendments to other enactments

  • The provisions of other enactments set out in Schedule 2 are repealed.

7 Repeals and revocations

  • (1) The enactments set out in Part 1 of Schedule 3 are repealed.

    (2) The regulations set out in Part 2 of Schedule 3 are revoked.
