2 Commencement

(1)

Section 1, this section, Part 1, sections 36, 55 to 58, 62, 103, 230 to 238, and 241(1), Schedule 1, and Part 1 of Schedule 3 come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

(2)

Section 242 comes into force on the day that is 3 years after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

(3)

The rest of this Act comes into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council; and 1 or more orders may be made bringing different provisions into force on different dates.

(4)

To the extent that it is not previously brought into force under subsection (3), the rest of this Act comes into force on the day that is 18 months after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

(5)

Subsection (4) is subject to subsection (2).

(6)

An order under this section is secondary legislation (see Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019 for publication requirements).
