Pursuant to section 2(1) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Act 2010, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
Order
1 Title
This order is the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Act 2010 Commencement Order 2010.
2 Commencement of specified sections of New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Act 2010
Sections 1 to 3, 4(2), 5(2) and (3), 8(1), 9, 17 to 20, 24 to 26, and 28 to 30 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Act 2010 come into force on 9 November 2010.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force specified provisions of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Act 2010 (the Act) on 9 November 2010. The provisions that are brought into force—
amend the objectives and functions of DHBs (sections 8(1) and 9):
establish the Health Quality and Safety Commission (sections 4(2), 5(2) and (3), 17 to 20, 25, 26, and 28 to 30):
enable elected members of the board of a DHB to hold office as appointed members of the board of 1 or more other DHBs (section 24(1)):
require a board of a DHB to first obtain the approval of the Minister of Health before establishing a committee of the board (section 24(2)).
Sections 1 to 3 of the Act, which provide for certain preliminary matters, are also brought into force.

1 General
This is a consolidation of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Amendment Act 2010 Commencement Order 2010 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.
