60 Power to authorise drafting and printing of Government Bills by Inland Revenue Department


Despite section 59(1)(a), the Governor-General may, by Order in Council made on the recommendation of the Attorney-General, authorise the Inland Revenue Department—


to draft (subject to the exceptions specified in the order) the Government Bills (being Bills intended to become Acts administered by that department) that the Minister of the Crown who is responsible for that department may direct be prepared for the consideration of Parliament, and amendments to them; and


to supervise the printing of the Bills and amendments referred to in paragraph (a).


An Order in Council made under subsection (1) is a legislative instrument and a disallowable instrument for the purposes of this Act.


The Inland Revenue Department (Drafting) Order 1995 continues in force as if made under subsection (1).
