The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Road User Charges Amendment Act 2013.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Principal Act
This Act amends the Road User Charges Act 2012 (the principal Act).
4 Section 5 amended (Interpretation)
In section 5(1), definition of permit, after
“2002”
, insert“for a RUC vehicle that exceeds the mass limits prescribed in section 4 of that rule”
.
5 Section 12 amended (RUC vehicles issued with permit must have distance licence for RUC vehicle type H or additional licence)
Replace section 12(4)(a)(i) with:
“(i) the maximum allowable mass under section 4.5(1) of Part 1 of the VDAM Rule 2002 for the RUC vehicle and any trailers towed by the RUC vehicle; and”.
