The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Trade Marks Amendment Act 2012.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
3 Principal Act amended
This Act amends the Trade Marks Act 2002.
4 Abandonment of application
Section 44(1) is amended by omitting
“the applicant has not responded”
and substituting“the Commissioner does not receive a response from the applicant”
.
