The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
This Act is the Judicial Conduct Commissioner and Judicial Conduct Panel Amendment Act 2015.
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
This Act amends the Judicial Conduct Commissioner and Judicial Conduct Panel Act 2004 (the principal Act).
After section 8B(1)(b)(iii), insert:
“(iv) if the Commissioner decides to refer a complaint to the Deputy Commissioner.”
(1) In section 16(1), replace “he or she” with “the Commissioner”.

(2) Replace section 16(1)(i) with:
“(i) he or she has previously considered the subject matter of the complaint, and the complaint fails to raise any issue of significance that he or she has not previously considered.”
