The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
This Act is the Bills of Exchange Amendment Act 2016.
This Act comes into force on 1 March 2017.
This Act amends the Bills of Exchange Act 1908 (the principal Act).
After section 96, insert:
Section 70 applies to a negotiable instrument that is not a bill in the same way as it applies to a bill.
