The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
This Act is the Insolvency Amendment Act 2016.
This Act comes into force on 1 March 2017.
This Act amends the Insolvency Act 2006 (the principal Act).
In section 6, insert as subsection (2):
(2)
However,—
Part 16 of the Companies Act 1993 applies to the liquidation of companies, overseas companies, and associations within the meaning of section 2(1) of that Act; and
other bodies corporate may be put into liquidation under or in accordance with the Acts under which they are incorporated or registered.
