Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 8 September 2022, inserts the name of the Digital Executive Board (the board) into Part 3 of Schedule 2 of the Public Service Act 2020 (the principal Act), as an interdepartmental executive board serviced by the Department of Internal Affairs.

The board is being established to co-ordinate and align the Government’s digital programme.

As a result of the order, the board becomes a public service agency to which the principal Act applies. The principal Act governs the board’s responsibilities, powers, and working arrangements, and the selection of board members.
