Order

1 Title

This order is the Public Service (Social Investment Agency) Order 2024.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 July 2024.

3 Principal Act

This order amends the Public Service Act 2020.

4 Schedule 2 amended

(1)

In Schedule 2, Part 1, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:

Social Investment Agency

(2)

In Schedule 2, Part 2, repeal the item relating to the Social Wellbeing Agency.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 July 2024, amends the Public Service Act 2020 (the principal Act) to reflect the establishment of the Social Investment Agency as a Government department and the disestablishment of the Social Wellbeing Agency as a departmental agency. The amendments—

insert the name of the Social Investment Agency into the list of departments of the public service set out in Part 1 of Schedule 2 of the principal Act:
remove the name of the Social Wellbeing Agency from the list of departmental agencies in Part 2 of that schedule.

The effect of the order is that the Social Investment Agency becomes a public service agency to which the principal Act applies.
