This order is made under section 2 of the European Union Free Trade Agreement Legislation Amendment Act 2024 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

2 Commencement of European Union Free Trade Agreement Legislation Amendment Act 2024
The European Union Free Trade Agreement Legislation Amendment Act 2024 comes into force on 1 May 2024.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings the European Union Free Trade Agreement Legislation Amendment Act 2024 (the Act) into force on 1 May 2024.
The Act amends New Zealand law as part of the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between New Zealand and the European Union, signed at Brussels on 9 July 2023 (the EU FTA).
