Pursuant to the Adoption Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

This order may be cited as the Overseas Adoptions Order 1967.

It is hereby directed that Austria, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden shall be deemed to be referred to in subparagraph (i) of paragraph (c) of subsection (2) of section 17 of the Adoption Act 1955, which subparagraph was substituted by section 6(1) of the Adoption Amendment Act 1965.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order directs that Austria, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden shall be countries whose adoption orders are recognised in New Zealand in accordance with section 17 of the Adoption Act 1955.

1 General
This is a consolidation of the Overseas Adoptions Order 1967 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.
2 Legal status
A consolidation is taken to correctly state, as at its stated date, the law enacted or made by the legislation consolidated and by the amendments. This presumption applies unless the contrary is shown.
