Misuse of Drugs (Classification of BZP) Amendment Bill

Proposed amendments

Hon Jim Anderton, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 2

To omit “18 December 2007” (line 2 on page 2) and substitute “1 April 2008”.

Clause 6

Subclause (1): to omit “18 June 2008” (line 22 on page 2) and substitute “1 October 2008”.

Subclause (3): to omit “17 June 2008” (line 31 on page 2) and substitute “30 September 2008”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Misuse of Drugs (Classification of BZP) Amendment Bill to—

  • postpone the date that the Bill comes into force from 18 December 2007 to 1 April 2008:

  • consequentially adjust the 6–month amnesty expiry date to the end of September 2008.
