ASEAN–Australia–New Zealand Free Trade Area Bill

Proposed motion to divide Bill into 2 Bills

Hon Tim Groser, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, Part 1, and the Schedule be a separate Bill, and that for the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and the Part 1 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Tariff (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.

That Part 2 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 2 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on a date appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.

Explanatory note

The motion set out on this Supplementary Order Paper divides the ASEAN–Australia–New Zealand Free Trade Area Bill into the following 2 Bills:

  • Tariff (AANZFTA) Amendment Bill:

  • Customs and Excise (AANZFTA) Amendment Bill.
