Settlement Systems, Futures, and Emissions Units Bill

Proposed motion to divide Bill into 4 Bills

Hon Simon Power, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and Parts 1 and 2 be a separate Bill, and that for the enacting words and clauses 1 and 2 there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

That Part 3 and Schedules 1 and 2 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 3 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Securities Markets Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

That Part 4 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 4 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Personal Property Securities Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

That Part 5 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 5 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Securities Amendment Act 2009.

2 Commencement

  • This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper replaces Supplementary Order Paper No 79. It divides the Settlement Systems, Futures, and Emissions Units Bill into the following 4 Bills:

  • the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Bill:

  • the Securities Markets Amendment Bill:

  • the Personal Property Securities Amendment Bill:

  • the Securities Amendment Bill.
