Auditor Regulation and External Reporting Bill

Proposed motion to divide Bill into 2 Bills

Hon Simon Power, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, Parts 1 to 3, and Schedule 1 be a separate Bill, and that for the enacting words and clauses 1 and 2 there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Auditor Regulation Act 2011.

2 Commencement

  • (1) Sections 1 to 7 and 73 come into force on the day after the date on which this Act receives the Royal assent.

    (2) The rest of this Act comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council; and 1 or more orders may be made bringing different provisions into force on different dates.

    (3) To the extent that it is not previously brought into force under subsection (2), the rest of this Act comes into force on 1 July 2012.

That Part 4 and Schedule 2 be a separate Bill, and that for the Part 4 heading there be substituted the following enacting words and clauses:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

  • This Act is the Financial Reporting Amendment Act 2011.

2 Commencement

  • (1) This Act (apart from section 86) comes into force on 1 July 2011.

    (2) Section 86 comes into force on 1 July 2012, unless it is brought into force on an earlier date to be appointed by the Governor-General by Order in Council.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper divides the Auditor Regulation and External Reporting Bill into the following Bills:

  • the Auditor Regulation Bill:

  • a Financial Reporting Amendment Bill.
