Environmental Protection Authority Bill

Proposed amendments

Hon Dr Nick Smith, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 15

Subclause (1): to omit “the environmental Act” (line 19 on page 13) and substitute “an environmental Act”.

Clause 28

To omit “Taioa” (line 12 on page 18) and substitute “Taiao”.

Clause 74R: new section 12C

Subsection (1): to omit paragraph (c) (lines 22 and 23 on page 50).

Subsection (2): to insert the following paragraph after paragraph (c) (after line 33 on page 50):

  • “(ca) the terms and conditions on which the permit was granted; and

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Environmental Protection Authority Bill as reported back.

The SOP amends clauses 15 and 28 to correct a grammatical error and a spelling mistake, respectively.

Clause 74R inserts new sections 12A to 12D into the Ozone Layer Protection Act 1996. New section 12C(1) describes generally the information that must be recorded in the Ozone Layer Protection Register. New section 12C(2) specifies in greater detail the information that must be recorded in the register in relation to permits. The SOP omits new paragraph 12C(1)(c) , which specifies a detail of permits to be included in the register, and inserts that paragraph as new paragraph (ca) into new section 12C(2).
