Proposed amendments

Hon Peter Dunne, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 5: new section 9A

In clause 5, new section 9A(1), replace “10” (line 24 on page 3) with “30”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Immigration Amendment Bill by amending new section 9A of the Act (as inserted by the Amendment Bill). The amendment redefines a mass arrival group to be a group of more than 30 people. Currently, a mass arrival group is defined in that section as more than 10 people.
