Proposed amendments
Hon Amy Adams, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 2
Replace clause 2 (page 7, lines 5 to 18) with:
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
Clause 7
In clause 7(1)(b)(i), replace “sections 33(2)(c) and 107K(2)”
(page 14, line 3) with “section 107K”
.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Public Safety (Public Protection Orders) Bill. The amendments change the commencement clause set out in the Bill to provide that the Bill comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent. The amendments also simplify the cross-reference in clause 7(1)(b)(i).
Departmental disclosure statement
The Ministry of Justice considers that a departmental disclosure statement is not required to be prepared for this Supplementary Order Paper.
