Te Urewera–Tūhoe Bill
Proposed motion to divide Bill into 2 Bills
Hon Christopher Finlayson, in Committee, to move as follows:
That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, Parts 1 to 4, and Schedules 1 to 4 be a separate Bill, and that the enacting words and clauses 1 and 2 be replaced with:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Tūhoe Claims Settlement Act 2014.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
That Parts 5 to 7 and Schedules 5 to 9 be a separate Bill, and that above the Part 5 heading there be inserted:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Te Urewera Act 2014.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
Explanatory note
This motion set out in this Supplementary Order Paper divides the Te Urewera–Tūhoe Bill into the following 2 Bills:
