Proposed motion to divide Bill into 2 Bills
Hon Gerry Brownlee, in Committee, to move as follows:
That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and Part 1 be a separate Bill, and that the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and the Part 1 heading be replaced with:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Subordinate Legislation (Confirmation and Validation) Act 2015.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.
That Part 2 and Schedules 1 to 3 be a separate Bill, and that the Part 2 heading be replaced with:
The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:
1 Title
This Act is the Legislation (Confirmable Instruments) Amendment Act 2015.
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on 1 January 2016.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper divides the Subordinate Legislation Confirmation Bill (28—2) into the following 2 Bills:
Subordinate Legislation (Confirmation and Validation) Bill:
Legislation (Confirmable Instruments) Amendment Bill.
Division in the manner set out in this Supplementary Order Paper is proposed to be done by the Clerk, and under Standing Order 309(4). A determination of the Business Committee for 18 November 2015 is that, at the completion of the second reading of the Bill, the Bill proceed to third reading forthwith. A determination of the Business Committee for 2 December 2015 is that the Clerk may divide the Bill in the manner set out on a Supplementary Order Paper to divide the Bill.
