Social Housing Reform (Flexible Purchasing and Remedial Matters) Bill

Proposed motion to divide Bill into 4 Bills

Hon Paula Bennett, in Committee, to move as follows:

That the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and Part 1 be a separate Bill, and that the enacting words, clauses 1 and 2, and the Part 1 heading be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters (Social Housing Reform) Amendment Act 2015.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

That subpart 1 of Part 2 be a separate Bill, and that the Part 2 heading and the subpart 1 heading in Part 2 be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Taxation (Social Housing Reform) Act 2015.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

That subpart 2 of Part 2 be a separate Bill, and that the subpart 2 heading in Part 2 be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the Housing Corporation (Social Housing Reform) Amendment Act 2015.

2 Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day after the date on which it receives the Royal assent.

That subpart 3 of Part 2 be a separate Bill, and that the subpart 3 heading in Part 2 be replaced with:

The Parliament of New Zealand enacts as follows:

1 Title

This Act is the KiwiSaver (HomeStart) Amendment Act 2015.

2 Commencement

This Act is treated as coming into force on 1 April 2015.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper divides the Social Housing Reform (Flexible Purchasing and Remedial Matters) Bill into the following Bills:

  • Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters (Social Housing Reform) Amendment Bill:

  • Taxation (Social Housing Reform) Bill:

  • Housing Corporation (Social Housing Reform) Amendment Bill:

  • KiwiSaver (HomeStart) Amendment Bill.
