Statutes Amendment Bill
Proposed amendment
Hon Simon Bridges, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 2
In clause 2(1), replace “Sections 75(4) and 78 come into force”
(page 7, line 4) with “Part 21 comes into force”
.
Explanatory note
Part 21 of the Bill contains amendments to the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988. The commencement clause in the Bill currently provides that 2 of these amendments will come into force 90 days after the date on which the Act receives the Royal assent. This Supplementary Order Paper amends the commencement clause so that instead it will provide that the whole of Part 21 will commence 90 days after the date on which the Act receives the Royal assent. This period of time is needed to allow for regulations to be made.
