Proposed amendment

Rt Hon Bill English, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Schedule 3

In Schedule 3, replace clause 24(2) (page 187, lines 18 to 20) with:

(2)

The chairperson has a deliberative vote and, in the case of an equality of votes, also has a casting vote.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Intelligence and Security Bill to replace clause 24(2) of Schedule 3 with a new provision that ensures that in all cases the chairperson of the Intelligence and Security Committee has a deliberative vote and, if there is an equality of votes, also a casting vote.
