Proposed amendment
Hon Kris Faafoi, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 2
Replace clause 2 (page 3, lines 4 to 7) with:
2 Commencement
This Act comes into force on the day after the date of Royal assent.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper replaces clause 2 of the Commerce Amendment Bill to provide that the whole Bill comes into force on the day after the date of Royal assent. The effect is that Part 1 of the Bill, which relates to competition studies, will come into force 1 month earlier than it would have under the Bill as reported back from select committee.
Departmental disclosure statement
The Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment considers that a departmental disclosure statement is not required to be prepared for this Supplementary Order Paper.
