Proposed amendments

Hon Andrew Little, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 2(1)(b)

In clause 2(1)(b), replace “1 July 2021” (page 5, line 9) with “1 December 2021”.

Clause 14: new section 106D(7)

In clause 14, new section 106D(7), replace “106F” (page 14, line 8) with “106G”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper sets out amendments to the Sexual Violence Legislation Bill. The amendments—

  • adjust clause 2(1)(b) to ensure that the sections specified in clause 2(1) come into force on whichever is the last to occur of the following dates:

    • the date immediately after the end of the 6-month period that starts on the date of Royal assent:

    • 1 December 2021 (instead of 1 July 2021); and

  • correct a wrong cross-reference in clause 14, new section 106D(7).
