Proposed amendments
Hon Michael Wood, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 7: new section 172(1)
In clause 7, new section 172(1), replace the definition of new (page 11, lines 10 to 23) with:
new, in relation to a light vehicle, means a vehicle that is not a used vehicle
In clause 7, new section 172(1), delete the definition of registration (page 11, line 26).
In clause 7, new section 172(1), replace the definition of used (page 12, lines 10 to 21) with:
used, in relation to a light vehicle, means a vehicle that has been registered under any of the following:
(a)
Part 17 of this Act:
(b)
the Transport Act 1962:
(c)
the Transport (Vehicle and Driver Registration and Licensing) Act 1986:
(d)
any corresponding enactment of another country
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Land Transport (Clean Vehicles) Amendment Bill by replacing the definitions of the terms new and used, as used in the Bill in relation to a light vehicle. As a consequence of these amendments, a definition of the term registration is no longer required and is therefore deleted.
Departmental disclosure statement
The Ministry of Transport considers that a departmental disclosure statement is not required to be prepared for this Supplementary Order Paper.
