Proposed amendments

Hon Kelvin Davis, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 23

In clause 23, insert as subclause (1) (page 7, after line 4):

In section 198(1), replace “care or protection order” with “care or protection order (other than an interim order)”.

In clause 23, after “Replace” (line 5), insert “section”.

In clause 23, new subsection 198(2), replace “care or protection order” (page 7, line 6) with “care or protection order (other than an interim order)”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper makes a technical amendment to section 198 of the Oranga Tamariki Act 1989 so that it does not apply to an interim care or protection order. This restores the effect of section 198 as it read before being modified by the Children, Young Persons, and their Families (Oranga Tamariki) Legislation Act 2017.
