Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana Marine Protection Bill

Proposed amendments

Hon Tama Potaka, in Committee, to move the following amendments:

Clause 2

In clause 2, replace “the day after Royal assent” (page 4, line 5) with “the 15th day after Royal assent”.

Clause 58(1)(c)

In clause 58(1)(c), delete “by the Director-General” (page 30, line 10).

Schedule 5, Part 1

In Schedule 5, Part 1, item relating to Search and Surveillance Act 2012, replace “the Schedule” (page 65, line 33) with “Schedule 2”.

Explanatory note

This Amendment Paper amends the Hauraki Gulf / Tīkapa Moana Marine Protection Bill to—

  • provide that the Bill will come into force on the 15th day after Royal assent; and

  • make minor and technical amendments.

Departmental disclosure statement

The Department of Conservation considers that a departmental disclosure statement is not required to be prepared for this Amendment Paper.
