Hon Paul Goldsmith, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 4
Replace clause 4(1) (page 3, lines 14 to 18) with:

In section 7(1), (2)(c), and (3), replace “55”
with “60”

Delete clause 4(1A) (page 4, line 1).
In clause 4(2), replace “64.5”
(page 4, line 2) with “59.5”
.
Explanatory note
This Amendment Paper proposes amendments to the Judicature (Timeliness) Legislation Amendment Bill (the Bill).
The proposed amendments to clause 4 of the Bill amend section 7 of the Senior Courts Act 2016 to set the maximum number of High Court Judges at 60 full-time equivalents. This restores the effect of the amendments to clause 4(1) and (2) of the Bill set out in Amendment Paper No 443 as released on 19 November 2025.
