Resource Management (Simplifying and Streamlining) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendments
Dr Russel Norman, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 52(1)
To omit from new subsection (4A), “felling, trimming, damaging, or removal of any tree or group of trees”
and substitute “trimming of any tree or group of trees”
(lines 12 and 13 on page 52).
Clause 151(1)
To omit “felling, trimming, damaging, or removal of any tree or group of trees”
and substitute “trimming of any tree or group of trees”
(lines 22 and 23 on page 203).
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper narrows “felling, trimming, damaging or removal”
to just “trimming”
, retaining the ability to have general tree protection rules for major work, while prohibiting them for simple work like “trimming” from 2012.
