Proposed amendments
Hilary Calvert, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Clause 5
To amend the definition of option by adding the following paragraph (after line 34 on page 6):
(c) the 2 options for the question in Part C of the referendum voting paper
Clause 12
To add the following paragraph (after line 5 on page 9):
(c) the option in Part C that the person wishes to vote for.
Clause 32A
To omit subclause (1) and substitute the following subclause (lines 33 and 34 on page 23):
(1) The total referendum expenses of a registered promoter in respect of the regulated period must not exceed $500,000.
Clause 32A
To omit subclause (1) and substitute the following subclause (lines 33 and 34 on page 23):
(1) The total referendum expenses of a registered promoter in respect of the regulated period must not exceed $750,000.

Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Electoral Referendum Bill to:
allow for a vote on whether New Zealand should retain separate Māori electorate seats and a separate Māori electoral roll as part of our electoral system
increase the expenses of a registered promoter to $500,000 or $750,000.
