Local Electoral Amendment Bill (No 2)

Proposed amendment

Eugenie Sage, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 21

In clause 21, new section 73A(6)(b) (line 20 on page 15), replace “affected.” with “affected; and”, and also after paragraph (b) (after line 20 on page 15), insert:

  • (c) must have been advised in writing by every local authority and electoral officer so consulted of their agreement to the making of such an Order in Council.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper replaces Supplementary Order Paper No 201. In order to ensure transparency and avoid any abuse of power, this Supplementary Order Paper provides that the local authority and electoral officer must agree to the adjournment of electoral processes.
