Chris Hipkins, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 31: new section 158H
In clause 31, new section 158H(2), after “any enactment,”
(line 26 on page 30), insert “subject to the principles of natural justice,”
.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Education Amendment Bill, which as currently drafted allows a sponsor of a partnership school kura hourua to make any rules the sponsor thinks necessary or desirable for the control and management of the school, subject to any enactment, the general law of New Zealand, and the partnership school contract.
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the bill to ensure that any rules made by a sponsor are subject to the principles of natural justice.
