Gambling (Gambling Harm Reduction) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendment
Iain Lees-Galloway, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
New clause 20
After clause 19 (after line 14 on page 8), insert:
20 Section 106 amended (Corporate society must apply or distribute net proceeds from class 4 gambling to or for authorised purpose)
After secion 106(1), insert:
“(1A) A corporate society must apply at least 80% of net proceeds from class 4 gambling to societies or for purposes located in the same regional council area or unitary authority area, or, in the case of the Chatham Islands to societies or for purposes located in the Chatham Islands.”
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Gambling (Gambling Harm Reduction) Amendment Bill to provide that a corporate society must apply at least 80% of net proceeds from class 4 gambling to societies or for purposes located in the same regional council area or unitary authority area, or, in the case of the Chatham Islands to societies or for purposes located in the Chatham Islands.
