New Zealand International Convention Centre Bill
Proposed amendment
Metiria Turei, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 7
Delete clause 7 (lines 20 to 23 on page 5).
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the New Zealand International Convention Centre Bill. It deletes clause 7 of the bill, which provides for the regulatory concessions outlined in the Agreement, which are the departures from New Zealand gambling law, to have the force of law and prevail over the provisions of the Gambling Act 2003. The Gambling Act 2003 is in place to control and regulate the gambling industry and should take precedence over this bill.
