Policing (Cost Recovery) Amendment Bill
Proposed amendment
Chris Hipkins, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 4
In clause 4, after new section 79G (page 5, after line 11), insert:
79H Early childhood education centres exempt
Early childhood education and care centres, as defined in section 310 of the Education Act 1989, are exempt from any fee or charge for any demand service related to police vetting.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 4 of the Bill to insert new section 79H into the Policing Act 2008 to exempt early childhood education and care centres from any cost recovery regime in relation to police vetting services. There would be no fee or charge to any organisation requesting the service in relation to any job candidate or person employed by an early childhood education and care centre.
