Proposed amendments
Barbara Stewart, in Committee, to move the following amendments:
Schedule
In the Schedule, new Schedule, heading to clause 4 (page 17, line 17), replace “12 weeks”
with “6 months”
.
In the Schedule, new Schedule, clause 4(1) (page 17, line 19), replace “12-week”
with “6-month”
.
In the Schedule, new Schedule, clause 4(2) (page 17, lines 25 and 26), replace the definition of 12-week transitional period with:
6-month transitional period means the period of 6 months starting at the commencement of the amendment Act
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 4 in the new Schedule inserted into the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990 set out in the Schedule of the Bill to provide tobacco retailers with a realistic timeframe to manage stock and changeover issues from branded to standardised packaging in order to comply with the regulations introduced by the Bill.
