Education (Update) Amendment Bill

Proposed amendment

Catherine Delahunty, in Committee, to move the following amendment:

Clause 4

In clause 4, new section 1A(3)(a), after “his or her potential” (page 13, line 25), insert “and to focus on equity as a key goal for the education system”.

Explanatory note

This Supplementary Order Paper amends clause 4 in the Education (Update) Amendment Bill to ensure that the objectives for education and learning are not just focused on the individual child, but also on the wider education system to ensure equity.
