Erica Stanford, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 18
In clause 18, after new clause 12A (page 9, after line 8), insert:
12AB Transitional arrangements for chief executive of specified partnership school kura hourua
A chief executive of a specified partnership school kura hourua that is, or is to be, replaced by a specified State school may be appointed as chief executive, or a position of equivalent authority, of that State school for up to 5 years.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Education Amendment Bill.
This amendment would provide for the chief executive of a partnership school kura hourua transitioning to a specified State school to be retained as an employee of the specified State school. This would ensure a chief executive’s special skills, institutional knowledge, and operational management ability could be retained by and enhance the special character of the specified State school.
