Proposed amendment
Jo Hayes, in Committee, to move the following amendment:
Clause 18
In clause 18, after new clause 12A (page 9, after line 8), insert:
12AB Transitional arrangements for objectives and performance standards of specified partnership school kura hourua
The objectives and performance standards that existed under the terms of the contract of a specified partnership school kura hourua that is, or is to be, replaced by a specified State school must be carried over to that specified State school for up to 5 years.
Explanatory note
This Supplementary Order Paper amends the Education Amendment Bill.
The intent of this amendment is to ease the transition for students of partnership schools kura hourua moving to specified State schools, by maintaining and enhancing a school culture of performance, achievement and accountability. This amendment would ensure the same high expectations of performance imposed on the principal and teachers of partnership schools kura hourua would be imposed on the board and management of specified State schools.
